Software for remote desktop control online through the web enables desktop, thin-client, tablet, and smartphone users to get help when they need it over the web. Remote desktop control through the web for remote support reaches just about all devices and hardware platforms included smartphones, tablets, laptops, virtual appliances, virtual hosts and server. Also included are Apple Macintosh systems and servers. Although the technology to run such applications differs slightly, the concept and results are the same online remote support software for web based remote desktop support

The technology permits admins and users both to benefit from faster help and support utilizing the convenience of the web and faster cellular networks of 3G and 4G speeds. Faster networks also means faster connection times and access to remote assistance without the lag and delay of technologies of the past. Technologies of the past for networking and remote support access lacked in speed and reliability. Broadband has aided in better responses times for support and for users to have their systems updated and working properly again after a mis-configuration or other issue such as drivers or application problems have prevented them from completing their own tasks due to system downtime. Web based computer remote support software and web based access to support groups and departments allows for faster resolution times to correct even the most serious of issues at times. Remote access has become so much more reliable and used so widely that in the case of servers, manufactures have created a system that allows technical people to remotely access servers without the operating system even running. Such technology is used by HP for example.

HP’s ILO technology is built-into their servers. It was developed for remote access to servers even when they are not booting to the server operating system such as Windows or VMware for example to name a few. HP’s ILO is web based if the proper firewall access is enabled by the admin in advance. I anticipate seeing such access to servers to be available to an online service which would mean the server would connect out to a site and register and make themselves available for connectivity. This would further enhance the web based remote support software feature of the technology because in the cased where security concerns and policies have keep the firewalls restrictions tight.  Web based remote access to the servers when regardless if there is an operating system installed and running such as windows server or Linux Enterprise, Cent OS, or VMware just to name a couple examples, enables a server administrator to update firmware , or even install operating systems on bare systems. Web based remote access to server and other systems will also enable the shipping of systems to distant location and still be accessible to deploy software and restore systems from backup.

The server’s console is remote controlled as if the tech support person was right in front of it. It is accessible in a manor which allows operations to be performed in order to return the server into production or to make upgrades, updates, or changes that will make the system perform better once returned to production use. Software for online remote computer control of a server that does not even have an operating system on it makes support much easier and faster.

HP is not the only server manufacturer that has low level built in remote access of their server hardware. Dell also has developed and built a similar competing technology to HP ILO. Dell technology is called DRAC, which stands for Dell Remote Access Card (DRAC) . It has essentially the same features as HP’s ILO. It permit admins to have remote access and remote control of server hardware even if there is not operating system installed on it. In fact, DRAC and ILO remote access and remote control does not require a hard drive to be installed in the system . This permits even the configuration of hard drives a out of the box. All the way from physical installation and the creation of RAID volumes.  Ground up installation from out of box to production using software for remote access and remote support through the web.

We use HP iLO all the time for computer support. it is a well developed technology that along with HP insight permits us to manage servers remotely like desktop computer support from the web is accomplished with agents on the remote computers and desktops. Web based software for supporting computers provides a technical advantage for providing web based support. HP iLO’s version 4 is the best I have seen yet. Web based access and connectivity for supporting servers like computer support has saved my company and our tech-support team countless hours. Being that we provide support to clients located in many locations, it is not feasible to travel to these locations. Web based software for support not only enables us to react fast to problems but permits proactive support. Not only does it save travel expenses and permits us to reach customers located anywhere because we connect through the web. Web based support of computers, desktop and server also keeps are costs lower as we don;t have to engage a local information technology support company to be our hand-on or smart hands. We can do almost all the work ourselves remotely through the web

My company uses several products for remote support software. In addition, we use HP iLO and Dell DRAC as remote support software because the technology allows us connection remotely to he server. As remote support software is a built-in feature of the management features to the technology. Our other remote support software even online remote support software can connect to desktops and server remotely. we have remote control access to the console i=of the server. The feature which we like best with the integrated lights out and the dell remote access is that the serer can have maintenance performed and we can remote connect online. the server remains online and available for remote control connections because of the independent interface for network access. Normal desktop remote support software and standard remote support software permits online connections but the remote system has to be online. 4RemoteSupport remote support software gives us auto-reconnect re-connections of the is a network disruption or if the connection to the remote server is not working well at the time. 4RemoteSupport also gives us a stand alone executable remote support application. This standalone program for Desktop remote control online also connects through the web.

We too use HP lights out and dell remote access almost daily as part of our managed service solutions. We provide our client with monitoring and support remotely using remote support software products. One of which is built into our management system but we also use additional application for online remote support software. The reason for this is that programs are not perfect. There are cases where one application for remote support will work nearly all the time but there are instances that there is a problem. We use other remote support software application for computer and desktop remote control through the web. Through the web support of computers , desktop and PC systems has enabled our company to get many more customers that if were not using remote support software technology as s much.As far a server support goes, we depend on integrated lights out by HP and dell remote access solutions. It is unfortunate however that both these manufacturers charge an additional license for control remote control. Although HP’s cost is not very high at all and well worth it. Dell charges much more for their remote control technology through DRAC.
