vCloud Director Deploying VM from Catalog Does Not Create Drive to Specified Size

vcloud-driector-deployed-windows-server-vm-from-catalog-drive-not-automatically-created-to-specified-larger-size

When deploying a VM from a public catalog in vCloud Director, the VM is created wit hthe default tepmplate size and not the size specified when setting the deployment options.

An example of this is when a Windows Server 2008R2 VM was deployed from a template, the drive was not automatically extended to 80GB. It was the default of 40GB. This can occure if guest customizations is not enabled during the process of deploying the VM from catalog.

The drive has to be extended manually using Windows Disk Manager.

Citrix Error 2320

Citrix Error 2320

Citrix Error 2320

There are many possible solutions for this problem and in the past I followed these to get this error resolved . They included registry modifications.  It has been several times that I seen this error when a user at a different unrelated offices  had to connect to two different Citrix servers. One of their own and the other from a provider. It turns out that that this is one of the causes – the versions of the different plugins , the web plugin vs. the full plugin.

The solution is similar in both cases, but not exactly as each had to use a different full plugin so I cannot say which plugin to use to solve the problem. It more specific to the environment and requirements of the office you are having this Citrix error show up in.

In one case the user’s desktop was fixed by installing a 12.x full plugin and the other office needed the enterprise edition of the receiver which is installable with a command line option to have the blue citrix plugin icon versus the black receiver icon.

A recent downgrade from a pre-installed Outlook / Office 2013 installation worked fine then for a user. After weeks and weeks of using Outlook 2007, and even when clicking send/receive. Rebuilding the profile did not help, clicked to open an email, the error persisted. After looking through different logs to perhaps determine the even that caused the problem for the user it turned out the cause was recent windows updates. Not certian which updat, the user began getting an error message stating Not Implemented. The error displayed when the user clicked on New Email Message, clicked on a message already i nthe inbox, or even when clicking on send/receive.
removing the profile did not help.

Outlook 2007 – Not Implemented Error

The problem was tracked down to windows updates. The user’s Outlook 2007 downgrade worked fine until a batch of windows updates occured. Removing and re-creating the Outlook profile did not help. The way to fix the problem is not to remove the updates because the it’s prefered to keep the updates and continue updating the desktop. Repaing outlook and re-booting the computer solved the problem.

I called the number in the fax. The it was ansered by a legitamate autoattendant. A live person answered after I tselected one of the option from the phone menu tree. They answered my first question regarding this service and then I was hung-up on on the second legitamate question I was asking regarding the domain.

.mobi registration scam received on fax machine – says “Final Notice”

Not sure if this falls into the pool of some of the worst scams but an unsuspecting person in a small office who has been assigned the task of being the psuedo IT person could be taken by this and register the domain thinking if they don’t they could get themselves into trouble. They’ll pony up the fee to register the .mobi domain name thinking also it’s the right thing to do before someone else gets it.
